Issues surrounding vertical axis wind turbines have finally been overcome, making this technology more affordable, reliable, quiet and efficient

Specifically these hurdles have been associated with noise, wind turbulence and low start up speeds.Taiwanese wind turbine developer, Hi-Energy Technology Co., Ltd has committed to R&D and production of Vertical Axis Small Wind Turbine for more than 4 years.

This ongoing research by Hi Energy have been rewarded with the following achievements:

1. The product has been approved by Taiwanese government as one of the Country’s valuable innovation projects supported by a Government budget since April 2005.

2. R&D tasks of the project including air dynamics, wind rotor, generator and power controller have been assisted by many different professors in the universities in Taiwan.

3. The design target of Hi Energy VASWT (Vertical axis small wind turbine) was to solve the key problems of HASWT (Horizontal axis small wind turbine). It has been confirmed that Hi Energy VASWT entirely solved the geographic wind turbulence problem and noise problem of HASWT.

4. The patented design of Hi Energy VASWT has accomplished both low wind self-start and high wind power efficiency. The superior performance of Hi Energy VASWT has been confirmed as eclipsing all of the existing VASWT products of both Japanese and European origin.

Through exhaustive independent testing Hi Energy VASWT has been proven to be the finest Small wind turbine available in the marketplace today.

5. Hi Energy VASWT products has a CE certificate and are now being sold in Taiwan, Japan, Korea, UK, Germany and USA.

1. Testing:
Hi-Energy turbines have been designed in Taiwan the “home “ of typhoons and have a Survival wind speed is 60 m/s. This is the highest standard.

1.1. Hi- Energy wind turbines have been tunnel tested in the UK at TUVnel.

1.2. TUVnel in UK is the only qualified and reputable small wind turbine testing institution in the world. At the moment, only 6 suppliers have been rated:

1.2.1. Hi Energy (VAWT)

1.2.2. Ampair (HAWT)

1.2.3. Proven (HAWT)

1.2.4. Windsave(HAWT)

1.2.5. Quiet Revolutio (VAWT)

1.2.6. Another one Chinese supplier (HAWT)

All the other wind turbine above have not been able to operate regularly.

Only Hi Energy’s VAWT has completed the testing requirements. They are probably the first company to get this TUVnel report.
